The Appleton Wiske Parish Plan was launched on Tuesday 5th September 2006 in the Village Hall. Over the course of the day over 90 people contributed to the event, 36 during the day and 54 at the presentation and discussion in the evening.
We were supported by Jo Buffey from Yorkshire Rural Community Council and Lisa Wilson from Hambledon District Council. Our Local Hambleton District Councillor, Stephen Dickins, from Ingleby Arncliffe.
5 new members joined the Steering group, and have already begun work on the questionnaire that will be sent to all homes in the Parish.
The Steering Group now consists of Ken
Blackwood, Chris Canning,
Simon Golding, Richard Johnson, Jean and John
Johnson, Sue Kennedy and Karen Portsmouth.
We received 169 individual responses covering topics that included transport, young people, utilities, traffic speed and recycling. A list (see below) will be used in the formation of the Parish Questionnaire and the final Plan.
