Appleton in Bloom was founded in 1993 to “co-ordinate actions relating to the entry of the Best Kept Village and Britain in Bloom competitions” and to “maintain and improve the appearance of the village”. The current committee’s aim is to provide long term improvements to the local environment and to maximise community involvement in an activity that anyone can enjoy, regardless of age or ability. To this end we have coined our slogan

"HORTICULTURAL ENTHUSIASM"

Committee members are Derek and Tricia Partington, Angela and Kevin Carlin, Gill and Brian Rawling and Olwen Young. They are ably supported by Anne and Simon Golding and Neal Toulson plus a host of volunteers from the community.
