1Within the village there are a number of local facilities including the Village Hall, Pubs, Shop and Post Office. Please find below more information about these and many other village facilities and amenities.
The Village Hall
Situated opposite Appleton Wiske Primary School at the south end of Front Street. It is the location of many of the village activities and sports, including : Pre-School, Pantomime, Parent & Toddler Group ,Cubs, Guides, Tuesday morning doctor’s surgery, badminton, pilates, Zumba and many others. Details of most activities can be found on the notice board inside the Village Hall.
The Village Hall is available for bookings for private functions, birthday parties and wedding receptions. For bookings and availability contact Mrs S Boddy on 01609 881479.
The Village Shop and Post Office
The Village shop and Post Office are located on Front Street in the middle of the village. Stocking great products from Hutchinson Hobbs, Kitsons, Choc-affair and Stonehouse Bakery (different breads etc.)
Prescription Collection & Delivery Repeat prescriptions must be handed into The Post Office by 10am Tuesday. Medicines are delivered to the Post Office on Thursdays at noon for collection in the afternoon.
Tickets are sold for various village functions such as Village Hall dances and the Panto. Supermarket School Vouchers are collected on behalf of Appleton Wiske school.

The shop will be open Monday to Saturday inclusive at 6 am whilst the newspaper orders are being put together should you wish to make any early purchases, please feel free to call in.
Doctors Surgery
On the third Tuesday morning from 9 until 10:30 a.m a doctor from the Mowbray House Medical Centre in Northallerton conducts a surgery in the Village Hall. The Village Hall Doctors Surgery is not held on bank holidays. To book an appointment call 01609 760002.

Weekly Shopping Trip (Market Day) – The minibus club runs the service to Northallerton on Wednesday morning. Pickup is outside the Post Office at 9: 15 a.m. with return from the Applegarth Car Park to the rear of Yorkshire Store at 11:30 a.m.
Minibus Use – The minibus is available to local organisations and members of the minibus club. Drivers must be over 25 and have a MIDAS certificate.

Oil Buying Group
