Several members of the village have raised concerns with regard to the speed at which vehicles travel through the village.

The Annual Working Party to put the Churchyard to bed for the winter will be held on Saturday 15th October 2016 from 9.00 am. If you have family interred in the churchyard or if you are able to help in any way you will be most welcome to assist with the jobs that need to be done. Please bring gardening tools with you. Light refreshments will be provided!
The Hog Roast will take place on the Village Green outside the Lord Nelson from 1.30 pm till late!! Tickets at £5.00 a head are available from the Pub, Post Office, or Anne and Simon Golding.
PLEASE BRING: cutlery, picnic chairs, tables, rugs etc.
As the school year ends on Friday the 22nd, our year 6 children will leave us to continue their education at secondary schools. For some of our parents this will be their last farewell assembly as it will be their youngest child who will leave. Thank you to everyone who supported and volunteered at the Scarecrow Festival. A total of £4,800 was raised and split between the Village Minibus, Pre-School and Appleton Recreation Association.
Jackie McReddie has applied to take over the Post Office in the Village. Applications are going well and meetings taking place. Hopefully this should happen very soon to give us a service that we need in the village.
