Appleton Wiske Community Primary School is at the heart of the village and surrounding areas; there is a real family atmosphere here with a caring and inclusive ethos. We focus on the needs of each individual child and work together to meet those needs in an exciting and well-resourced learning environment.

We aim to provide the best possible education for your children and hope you will share our high expectations, particularly in behaviour and achievement. Our close collaboration with a range of neighbouring settings and skilled professionals ensures seamless care with adults who have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of children and their development and learning. This reflects our school vision of TEAM: ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’.

Appleton Wiske Educational Foundation

Following the sale in 1991 of the disused Victorian School building in Appleton Wiske the Appleton Wiske Education Foundation was set up, with its funding coming from the proceeds of the sale of the building. The purpose of the trust is to assist with the furtherance of education of young people who live (or whose parents live) in the villages of Appleton Wiske, East Rounton, West Rounton and Picton.

The trust can make awards towards the education of young people who are under 25 years old. The trustees are able to make awards towards the cost of appropriate further education at a university or college including professional or technical training. Grants can also be made towards supporting the purchase of tools, instruments, clothing, outfits etc. for use  when starting apprenticeships in trades or training in professions.

The trust can also support the study of music and other arts.

The Foundation is a registered charity (number 1012856) with trustees appointed by North Yorkshire County Council, Appleton Wiske Parish Council, The Rountons Parish Council and Picton Parish Meeting.
